Harvest Bazaar - Baked Goods NeededThe St. Peter of the Fields Harvest Bazaar is November 2, 2019 from 10:00am to 3:00pm. There will be a baked goods table at the Harvest Bazaar and we are in need of our fabulous St. Peter's bakers to help us fill the table with lots of yummy treats! You can drop off your items that day (Nov. 2) at 10:00 am. Thank you so much! Your generosity is appreciated!

PSR NewsOur Children's Liturgy that is held during the 10 am Mass has started. Students from K-4th grades can attend. The children experience the Scripture readings at their level and listen to the readings that are appropriate for them. Please feel free to send your child when Fr. David dismisses them during the Mass.

High School RetreatNov. 9, 2019, 3:00pm – Nov. 10, 2019, 2:00pm
St. Peter of the Fields, Rootstown
Cost: $30 per participant.

This overnight retreat will begin on Saturday, November 9 with check-in from 3:00-3:30. It will include Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast and Sunday lunch. Attendees will hear speakers, take part in activities, spend prayerful time in the church and have some fun along the way! Sleeping accommodations will provided and be chaperoned. A registered nurse will be on site. We can accept up to 30 reservations. PLEASE RESERVE YOUR SPOT WITH YOUR YOUTH MINISTRY DIRECTOR BY 10/27/19. First Step for ChangeFirst StepWe are in the midst of supporting the "First Step for Change" program. Please pick up a baby bottle in church before you leave if you would like to participate in the program. If we run out of bottles, just bring in your spare change in a coffee tin or something similar. The weekend of October 26-27, we will have a special collection in church to support this event, which helps unwed mothers by giving them assistance with diapers, baby formula, food, etc. Take a baby bottle home, but remember to bring it right back!

Illuminare ConcertOn Saturday, October 26th there will be a choral concert in our church presented by Illuminare at 7:30 pm in the Church. Daily Mass Schedule ChangeFor the next few weeks, weekday Masses will normally be celebrated at St. Peter's on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8:30am, unless there is a funeral. There will be no Mass on Thursday. Please check the bulletin or Event Calendar for any changes.

Child Protection - VIRTUS TrainingAll persons working with parish children are required to complete VIRTUS training and a background check. Child protection training sessions, known as VIRTUS, are being offered at various parishes in our county.

Altar Rosary SocietyThe October meeting with be at St. Peter's on Monday, October 14th at 6:30 pm. We will be planning the Harvest Bazaar, which will be held on Saturday, November 2nd.

Clothing Center Volunteers St. Peter's volunteers two days each month at the Portage County Clothing Center. Normally, the first day is the fourth Monday of the month from 9:00am to 2:00pm with a lunch break, and the second day is the fourth Thursday of each month from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Please check the bulletin or Event Calendar closer to the end of the month to confirm Clothing Center dates, as days may be rescheduled.

End of Life Issues - IC RavennaThe Immaculate Conception Care Team is sponsoring a friendly colloquium on "End of Life Issues" to take place on Sunday, November 3rd from 3-5 pm in the IC Hall. Speakers for this event will be a priest, a physician, an attorney and the Director of Northeast Ohio Right to Life.

Holy Marriage, Happy Marriage! Dan Dematte, co-author of "Three Secrets to Holiness in Marriage", will be speaking on Sunday, October 27th at 6 p.m. in the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Social Hall, 343 Via Mt. Carmel, Youngstown, starting with pizza and salad. This is a free event. Babysitting available for those making reservations by October 21. Twenty-third Anual Red MassBishop George V. Murry, SJ invites all men and woman involved in the Legal and Judicial Profession across the six counties of Northeast Ohio to join in prayer for their important work for the common good of our local communities and society. All judges and attorneys, particularly those who are Catholics, are encouraged to attend the Twenty-Third Annual Red Mass on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, Youngstown, Ohio, at 12:00 pm.
