Welcome to St. Peter's

Thanksgiving Mass Thanksgiving Mass on November 21 will be at 7:00pm. No 8:30am Mass. No Mass on Thanksgiving or Friday 22nd and 23rd.

CCD Sunday November 18 we will have CCD Classes. The following Sunday, November 25 is our Thanksgiving break (no Classes). Classes resume on December 2, which is the first Sunday of Advent. Our parish and our CCD classes continue to reach out for those in need. Please participate in our parish project of buying a gift for someone in need. Our CCD students will again collect gently used clothes, toys and shoes for their Advent project. The clothes, shoes and toys will be given to the Portage County Clothing Center.

Prayer Warriors The 8th grade CCD class has placed two baskets in the back of the church. One basket contains an index card introducing each of our 8th grade Confirmation candidates. Please take one of the cards and commit to praying for the student every day until Confirmation on April 6, 2019. The other basket is for your own prayer requests. Please write your prayer intention on one of the index cards that has been provided and place it in the designated basket. The candidates will pray for your intention each week when they meet for class.

Anointing of the SickThe Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will occur after both Masses on the weekend of November 24-25th, the Feast of Christ the King. You can/should receive the sacrament if you are elderly, have had serious surgery, or suffer from physical or mental health issues, or are facing any kind of illness.

Altar Rosary Our Christmas party will be held on December 4th in the hall. It will start at 6pm with dinner. The meat will be supplied. Guests are asked to bring a dish. Last name starting with A – J cold dish. K – R hot dish and S – Z a dessert. After dinner will be games and fellowship. We are also asking for donations for diapers – Size 2 – 5 for the Coleman Pregnancy Center. All women of the parish are invited to attend. This is a great way to start the Christmas season and meet other women of the parish.

Youth Group News The Youth group is open to all high school students in the parish. We meet before Sunday Mass at 8:45. For a schedule of events, please contact Terry Lakos @ 330-606-9205. The group will be going to the Rhoda Wise house and Grotto in Canton on Saturday, December 1st. All high school youth are welcome and encouraged to learn about the life and miracles of Rhoda Wise. For more information, please contact Terry Lakos.

Toys for Needy ChildrenThis year we will be collecting toys for the needy children of the Portage County area. Our parish is going to sponsor 10 area families in need for Christmas. Some tree tags will require you to buy some clothing/items for adults as well as children. If you would like to shop for adults, be sure you take a tag for adults. All other tags will be for children of various ages. We would also like our young adults to be involved in the service projects of collecting these toys. Let's fill the vestibule again for children in need of our area. All toys will be distributed to families in need.
