Catholic Charities School Supply DriveEven though it seems that school just dismissed, we will begin registrations for school supplies on July 2. Our agency supplied about 300 students with items needed last year. We anticipate a similar, or increased, demand this year.

Most-needed items: Backpacks/book bags, Spiral notebooks, Notebook paper, 1 & 2 inch three-ring binders, Blue, black, red pens, #10 pencils, Colored pencils, Sharpie markers, Dry erase markers, Highlighters, Glue sticks/bottles, Pocket folders, Scissors, Erasers, Pencil boxes/pouches, Tissues, Disinfectant wipes.

St. Peter Parish PicnicThe Parish Picnic will be held on Sunday July 15th, 2018 at 12:00 noon. Mark your calendar and plan to attend. The church will furnish the meat and everyone is asked to bring a dish to share. The drawing for our Summer Raffle will take place at the picnic.

Charitable Giving... ...sometimes goes into a steep decline during the summer months. Our own Catholic Charities is having a Fund Drive to Fight Hunger during the summer. A donation of $20.00 can have your name on a paper plate to help feed a hungry person. You can donate easily to our Catholic Charities on line.

Eagle Scout Project Parishioner Logan Bender is collecting socks for the "Homeless Collection Campaign," for Boy Scout Troop 81. Please donate "NEW" pairs or packages of socks for men, women and children sizes. Please place socks in the box in back of the church during the month of July. Any questions call (330)849-1970.

Summer Bus Trip, Carey, OhioA trip to Our Lady of Consolation Shrine is being planned for Wednesday, August 1st. This will be our summer bus trip. Our bus is also a part of the Diocesan Pilgrimage for Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life for the Diocese of Youngstown. Cost for the bus is $28.00 per person. A form is located in back of the church. All reservations must be prepaid. Make check payable to: St. Peter of the Fields Church. Lunch will be provided in the Shrine Cafeteria, but you must pay for your own lunch. The bus will also stop for a quick breakfast, and also on the return home. The schedule for the day is also available on the flier.

Clothing Center Volunteers St. Peter's volunteers two days each month at the Portage County Clothing Center. The first day is the fourth Monday of the month from 10:00am to 2:00pm with a lunch break. The second day is the fourth Thursday of each month from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Note that, during some months, additional days may b e scheduled. Please check the bulletin or Event Calendar to confirm Clothing Center dates.

Sisters at Sancta Clara Monastery Annual Benefit Sisters at Sancta Clara Monastery will have their Annual Benefit for the Nuns at Christ the Servant Church, 833 39th St. NW, Canton, Ohio 44709, Saturday July 14th, 2018. You will enjoy a luncheon, an afternoon of visiting and card playing, browsing through tables of fresh baked goods, unique raffle item and religious cards made by the Sisters. Admission $11.00. Come bring a friend and get ready so some good surprises! Doors open from 11am to 3pm. Luncheon at Noon.

LINC "Fore the Kids" Golf Outing – July 14Love in Neglected Communities (LINC) is a non-profitthat provides impoverished youth access to core resources needed for basic survival and self-fulfillment. LINC is currently building a primary school in Awasi, Kenya. Our annual golf outing fundraiser will be Saturday, July 14 at Paradise Lakes in Suffield. Shot gun start at 2:00. Fee includes 18 holes/cart, lunch, steak dinner, beverages and prizes. Registration forms are in the back of church OR register on line at Donations and sponsorships are also greatly appreciated! Portage County Chapter, Knights of Columbus Bus Trip They are sponsoring a trip "Walking in the Footsteps of Fr. Michael J. McGivney" September 1-5, 2018. The trip will depart from Ravenna, traveling to Bar Harbor Maine and New Haven, Connecticut. Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Church, founded by Fr. McGivney, a tour of the K of C Museum, free time in Bar Harbor Maine and a stop at the Turning Stone Casino in New York, which will be giving a $30 casino bonus.
